A quarterly member publication has long been part of the communication strategy for the team at Wabash Communications CO-OP. As the organization continues to grow and competition from tier 1 providers increases, Wabash wanted to optimize every touchpoint with their membership as an opportunity to reinforce their local messaging, display real ties to the communities they serve, and provide useful education from a trusted source.
The reimagined quarterly magazine transforms a previously templated publication into a highly personalized touchpoint that highlights the people and places Wabash serves. Each issue features a specific city or town within the service area, capturing the character of rural Southern Illinois through stories that feel familiar, relevant, and grounded in real community life. Articles are intentionally structured to spotlight the featured community, a local business, and a Wabash team member who lives and works nearby.
At the same time, the magazine continues to serve as an educational resource for members. Each issue includes clear, practical guidance on topics such as avoiding scams, understanding robocalls, and staying informed about important service or account updates. This balance of local storytelling and useful education reinforces trust while keeping the publication valuable beyond a single read.
The result is a quarterly magazine that strengthens community connection, reinforces Wabash’s local positioning, and turns a long‑standing communication channel into a meaningful brand experience for members across the service area.
