Broadband Alert: Annual Supply Chain Report Regarding Use of “Covered Equipment” Due March 31, 2026

News & Announcements

First-time filers with no covered equipment are required to file.

SUMMARY

On March 13, 2026, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Public Notice reminding all providers of advanced communications services that Supply Chain Annual Reports reflecting the status as of December 31, 2025, must be submitted no later than March 31, 2026.

The Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act requires providers to annually certify whether they have purchased, rented, leased, or otherwise obtained any equipment or services on the FCC’s Covered List. Providers who cannot certify that they have no covered equipment must supply detailed information about such equipment, including its location, cost, functionality, and replacement plans.

This may apply to you if…

  • You are a broadband provider
  • You are an Advanced Communications Services Provider (≥ 200 kbps in either direction)

Action Items & Timeline

  • First-time filers with no covered equipment MUST file. If you have never previously filed and have never certified that you have no covered equipment, the FCC requires you to file an initial certification in 2026. This is explicitly required for any provider that has not yet submitted such a certification.
  • If you reported covered equipment in your 2024 report, you must file again by March 31, 2026, regardless of whether anything changed. Any provider that previously reported covered equipment must submit a new annual report.
  • If you previously certified you have NO covered equipment and nothing has changed since your last report: you do not need to file in 2026. Providers that already filed a “no covered equipment” certification in a prior annual report do not need to file again unless they have since obtained covered equipment.
