Memo: Data Collection Extension
April 7, 2020
Data Collection Extension
On April 2, 2020, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced a 30-day extension for Supply Chain Data Collection in DA 20-370, making the new due date May 22, 2020.
All Universal Service Fund (USF) recipients that were eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) as of December 31, 2019 must respond to the mandatory FCC Supply Chain Data Collection (Data Collection) due no later than May 22, 2020. Other USF and service providers that are not ETCs are also encouraged to participate in the Data Collection.
Background
The FCC is requiring a Data Collection of all ETCs for inventory of Potentially Prohibited Equipment and Services. The Data Collection is a one-time filing to report the extent to which their networks contain or use Huawei Technologies Company (Huawei) and/or ZTE Corporation (ZTE) equipment and/or supported software services per the FCC’s Protecting Against National Security Threats to the Communications Supply Chain Report and Order, adopted in November 2019.
