With over 30 years of experience in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage power systems, Jeff Hein leads substation engineering efforts that help clients build smarter, more resilient infrastructure. At Vantage Point, Jeff mentors a team of engineers, guiding complex substation design, protection and control strategies, and system automation — ensuring every solution is tailored to meet client goals for reliability, safety, and long-term performance. His expertise spans greenfield and brownfield projects from 15kV to 765kV, including EPC delivery, operational logic, and advanced automation. Jeff’s leadership in regulatory compliance, strategic transmission planning, and utility policy has helped utilities modernize systems, meet evolving standards, and improve grid reliability. Known for his collaborative approach and deep technical insight, Jeff helps clients achieve future-ready infrastructure through tailored engineering solutions and trusted partnerships.
Jeff is a registered Professional Engineer (PE). Jeff holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado.
